Comedy Fest Combines "Killer Condoms" and "Pippi Longstocking"
Organizers of the 1st Annual New York Comedy Film Festival released the
complete line up yesterday. Over 50 films are scheduled over three days,
October 23-26. The goal of the festival is to “celebrate the people who
make us laugh.” Festival proceeds will be donated to the New York based
Center for Children + Families, Inc., a non profit organization which
offers assistance and educational programs for children in need and their
families. Opening the festival is director Mel Smith’s “Bean“, starring
popular British comedian Rowan Atkinson. Closing night features a world
premiere episode of “South Park” by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Also included
in the fest: “Eight Days a Week“, a 1997 Slamdance Audience Award winner,
FLUSHED, a highlight of the recent IFFM, “Killer Condom“, a twisted German
safe-sex comedy from Troma Entertainment, “Pippi Longstocking” and “The Adventures of Paddington the Bear“.
“We want to screen films that people will enjoy after a hard day’s work in
the office,” said Marc J. Isaacman, executive producer of the festival.
