Overseas Groups Films For Home Vid Distribution

Global distributor Overseas Filmgroup has signed three separate home video
licensing deals for nine films with home video distributors Fox/Lorber, BMG
Video
and A-PIX Entertainment. Some of the films have been previously
released in the U.S. by Overseas’ U.S. distribution arm, First Look
Pictures
and some have upcoming U.S. release dates.

The BMG deal includes Seth Zvi Rosenfeld’s “A Brother’s Kiss” to be
released on video in June and “Mrs. Dalloway“, directed by Marleen Gorris
(1996 Best Foreign Language Film Oscar winner “Antonia’s Line“) set to be
released theatrically by First Look Pictures on February 20th. The deal
also included a third film yet to be named.

The Fox/Lorber license includes Bille August’s 1996 release “Jerusalem” to
be released on video in May, Richard Spense’s comedy “Different For Girls
(August), the 1997 Norwegian entrant for the Best Foreign Language Film
Oscar, “The Other Side of Sunday” by director Berit Nesheim to be released
theatrically by First Look in Spring and Anna Maria Tato’s documentary
Marcello Mastroianni, I Remember,” set for a Summer theatrical release by
First Look.

A-PIX picked up the rights to the Lori Petty/James LeGros starrer
Countdown” (directed by Keoni Waxman-to be released on video in May),
Steve Wang’s recent HBO film “Drive” (August), and P.J. Posner’s Luke
Perry/Gia Carides starrer, “Lifebreath.”
