Three new entries (“Mrs. Dalloway,” “Leather Jacket Love Story,” and
Moon Over Broadway” performed solidly this weekend, each earning over $10,000
per screen. Meanwhile, the two films at the top of the Indie Top 10 (“Star Kid
and “Eve’s Bayou“) continued to show signs of age, earning small numbers at the
box office. Despite the recent downturn, “Bayou” still remains the most
successful film from a non-studio affiliated distributor released last year: the
movie is now just shy of the $15 million mark.
