>> Bard Debut in Post
“Mergers and Acquisitions,” a low budget drama-comedy from writer-producer-
director Mitchell Bard, is currently in post-production in New York. The debut
feature from Bard deals with an idealistic journalist who goes up against the cold,
soul-sucking realities of the corporate business world during a hostile takeover of
his company. It stars Steven Chester Prince (“Allie and Me“), Brian Vander Ark
(lead singer of The Verve Pipe) and Lee Turgesen (HBO‘s “Oz“), among others.
Lopsided Pictures and Sid Flips Films are producing the film.
>> John Turturro, Paleontologist
Wrapping this month in Montreal is “Two Thousand and None,” a drama from
writer/director Arto Paragamian (“Because Why“), producer Arnie Gilbert
(“Lilies“), and starring John Turturro (“Illuminati“). Turturro plays a
paleontologist diagnosed with a fatal medical condition, who has only weeks
to live to get his affairs in order. Galafilm is producing, with Pandora
holding worldwide distribution rights.
“Goodbye Sunrise” Preps
Writer Michael Addis (Comedy Central‘s upcoming “The Man Show“) is set to
make his directing debut with “Goodbye Sunrise,” currently in pre-production
for a July shoot in Illinois. Sean Young (“Ace Ventura: Pet Detective“)
stars as a brazen white trash mother who’ll do anything to get her son into
college. Lorena David and Mark Roberts produce through their Kingsize
Entertainment banner. For more info, check out their Web site at
