An occasional moment of online fun (and frequent horror) can be had searching the results of the latest health inspection reports for Manhattan restaurants (via the NYC health department website). Well, tonight on WCBS news at 11, the channel’s latest edition of “Eat At Your Own Risk” zeroed in on the health inspections of New York City movie theaters. Downtown indie cinema hotspot Film Forum took a hit, named as the only Manhattan theater to receive three critical violations in an inspection last year (one for evidence of mice).
Manager Dominick Balletta told the reporter that the theater was committed to cleaning up and a search of the NYC health department site showed that they passed an inspection in October. I’ve never seen a mouse at Film Forum, but I did have one run by my feet years ago at the Angelika Film Center (that site passed its inspection in June of ’03 after a pair of violations).
