Five New Albums Worth Your Dime

Five New Albums Worth Your Dime

1. The Decemberists, Picaresque (Watch this album be one of the best of the year by… well, December. A carnival ride of indie pop that layers bombastic production inside intimate melodies.)

2. Keren Ann, Nolita (Mazzy Star gets a French facelift, on this lush and beautiful pop record.)

3. Stars, Set Yourself on Fire (Potential of the past becomes kinetic energy for this Montreal indie-rock group. Not as strong as their neighbors in Arcade Fire or The Dears… but still more than worth your time, or dime, I guess.)

4. Soel, Memento (Cross-stitching hip-hop, dub, jazz, and worldbeat into a downtempo lounge kinda mix. St. Germain takes the boards for this album worthy of any sunset.)

5. Moby, Hotel (The groundbreaking DJ gets more rock-oriented for this album that may think it’s too cool for school… but sometimes, it is.)
