Okay, so, the American Film Market (AFM) is all over. It ended over a week ago. But, I’ve got some photos to share. For those who don’t really understand what AFM entails, basically companies from around the globe rent hotel rooms at places like the Loews in Santa Monica. Inside each room, a company will decorate the walls with posters for the films that are about to enter production, or have just completed production.
The goal? To have international buyers and distributors purchase the films’ rights for release. So, many of the films you see advertised in the hotel rooms have already been made. But many, have not. I decided to take out my digital camera and capture some eye-catching films that may or may not be coming to a theater near you…
(AFM attendees mingle by the pool at the Loews Santa Monica, while the sun begins to set over the beach and boardwalk behind them.)
(The promo poster for Rambo IV, which has not yet begun production.)
(This is a film called, Goose!, featuring Chevy Chase, Joan Plowright, and Tom Arnold as the voice of Randall the talking goose. I believe this film has already been released, in select countries.)
(A life-size standee for Uwe Boll’s latest critical disaster, Bloodrayne, sits in a hotel doorway.)
(Mexican Werewolf in Texas. It’s apparently opening in Texas next month. For those of us like me who grew up on the border, this film would be better titled as La Chupacabra.)
