Roadside/Goldwyn Take Rights to "Boynton Beach Club"

Independent film distributors Roadside Attractions and Samuel Goldwyn Films announced Tuesday the joint acquisition of North American rights to Susan Seidelman‘s new film “Boynton Beach Club.” The deal was negotiated by Howard Cohen, co-president of Roadside Attractions, Meyer Gottlieb, president of Samuel Goldwyn Films and Susan Seidelman on behalf of the filmmakers. Based on an original story by Florence Seidelman, Susan Seidelman’s 74 year-old mother, the film revolves around five people living in an active adult community in Boynton Beach, Florida. Their lives intersect when they meet at a bereavement group and soon each find themselves on an unexpected journey as they re-enter the “dating game” after many decades of married life. “We’re thrilled to be joining forces with Susan Seidelman in bringing her one-of-a-kind film to the rest of the country on the heels of its great Florida opening,” said Cohen in a statement. “The film never stoops to stereotype, and manages the singular feat of being both a funny and a realistic movie about senior dating.” [Brian Brooks]
