It’s no shock that the Toronto International Film Festival (probably one of the best experiences on the film festival circuit) will happen in Toronto. But, now, news comes today that the popular U.K.-based V Festival will mount its first-ever North American production in the same city. At the same time. Take note, film/music fans: it’s gonna be a couple of days of tough decisions.
The renowned V Festival has been going strong for years in the U.K., and the North American version (slated for Septemer 9 and 10 at Toronto’s Island Park) should not disappoint with a lineup that includes the Flaming Lips, Gnarls Barkley, Massive Attack, Zero 7, The Ranconteurs, and very many more. The Toronto Film Festival, meanwhile, will happen around town September 7-16. A couple of things you can expect:
– Hotels/Air tickets for the city are about to be way sold-out.
– Toronto cabdrivers are about to double their expected income for that week. And the subway will be crowded, for a change.
– More music people at the film festival, and more film people at the music festival.
