Echo Bridge has secured the international rights “My Life in Ruins,” a romantic comedy with “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” star Nia Vardalos. The film is set to be produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman of Playtone (who also produced “Wedding,”) and Nathalie Marciano and Michelle Chydzik of 26 Films.
The film is set to begin production this summer, and follows a Greek-American tour guide working in the ruins of Ancient Greece. Donald Petrie (“Miss Congeniality”) is set to direct with “The Simpsons Movie” writer Mike Reiss helming the screenplay. “This is such an exciting time for Echo Bridge Entertainment as we continue to grow and acquire high-profile feature films for worldwide distribution,” commented Echo Bridge CEO Michael Rosenblatt in a statement.
