L.A. based The Little Film Company and leading German production outfit Egoil Tossell (“Black Book“) are partnering again on two films being introduced at Cannes: “Helen” and “Menchem and Fred.” They previously partnered (along with Zephyr Films) on “The Last Station,” starring Meryl Streep and Anthony Hopkins, which was introduced in Berlin last February. The announcement was made today by Egoli Tossell‘s Jens Meurer and Judy Tossell and The Little Film Company’s Robbie Little.
“Helen” will be directed by Sandra Nettelbeck (“Mostly Martha“) with Gillian Anderson attached to star and is about a woman with a dark secret. “Menachem” is a documentary from filmmakers Ronit Kertsner and Ofra Tevet. It is based on the reunion of two German-Jewish brothers who were separated in 1945.
The Little Film Company is handling worldwide sales for both films, starting in Cannes where they will be introduced to foreign buyers for the first time. [Peter Knegt]
