Sometimes, in the thick of our daily lives, we fail to take a moment to reflect on the things that make life worth living. That’s what Thanksgiving is all about…
The last two months have marked an incredible transformation for IMAGE and the Atlanta Film Festival. After much work, our team produced a successful Out On Film, we managed our second Rapid i Movement 50 hour film making contest, we welcomed winning screenplay winners and mentors to Atlanta for an amazing retreat, and submissions for the Atlanta Film Festival are nearing 1,000, with over a month and a half to go before the January 10th deadline.
1. I am Thankful to Kent Osborne (and his cat!) for making this awesome ATL travelogue..
2. I am thankful to Dan Krovich (Festival Director), Paula Martinez (Managing Director), Elizabeth Hamilton (Education Director), Charles Judson (Communications Director), and the IMAGE Board for their contributions, time, energy and creative input. Momentum is building–and can’t wait for to the new year when this talented team will continue making the Atlanta Film Festival great.
3. I am thankful for this intersection between The Smiths and Radiohead–two of my ATF groups:
I LOVE how Radiohead recorded some of their favorite songs and posted them online as part of a live Webcast. They look like they are having fun.
Side note about Radiohead and their pay-what-you-want release In Rainbows (excellent, and worth every penny, so pony up!), I’ve detected a new trend of people boasting that they paid MORE than fair market value to download the recording.
This is exactly what uber-talented actress Ellen Page did last week in Atlanta during the Q&A after a sneak preview of Juno (also excellent…so check it out).
Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
And as Moz said in Atlanta–“Please don’t kill anything…Thanksgiving, YES…Thanks-killing, NO!”
