This is the poster for the 80th annual Academy Awards, which will happen, though in what form is still unknown…
Variety’s Anne Thompson and Dave McNary break the story that Gil Cates is planning on two Oscar telecasts, or ceremonies, in case the strike isn’t settled by February. Other than the fact that it’s a BIG DRAG, the telecast itself doesn’t concern we Oscar watchers, we just care about who gets nominated and who wins. The ceremony has always been something to make fun of to enjoy. It seems a shame to punish the award recipients and millions of fans worldwide but what can you do. No pain, no gain and if the AMPTP isn’t going to budge we must focus our anger and hatred on them. What else can we do? We support the writers. At this point, though, I gotta say, my own patience is wearing thin. Please let it end. Please let it end.
My thoughts exactly.
