SXSW 2008: The Filmmaker/Blogger Intersection

We always persuade filmmakers to start a blog. If not the director, someone on the team should have a blog (hell, it might even be more entertaining/interesting if one of your interns had control of the blog). So, in the spirit of SXSW convergence, I wanted to share some of the many filmmaker blogs behind some of the SXSW 2008 features. Keep checking them before, during, and after the festival:

Danny Jacobs and Darren Grodsky, directors of Humboldt County, have a very entertaining blog that also includes a link to their Aunt Laura’s own blog (she helped inspire their film).

What do you expect? Negin Farsad made a documentary about nerds. So, of course, she and the crew would have a blog dedicated to their film, Nerdcore Rising.

Speaking of nerds… check out the comprehensive blog hosted by the terrific and diligent crew from the documentary, Second Skin.

The blog for the SXSW 2008 competition documentary, The Matador, is now up and running. Keep checking it for updates on this beautiful film.

What’s really cool about the blog for the documentary, Bi The Way, is that it not only chronicles what the crew has been up to in advance of SXSW but it also documents the making of the film itself.

The SXSW 2008 competition documentary, Full Battle Rattle, has their blog full of details about their prep for SXSW as well as their premiere last month in Berlin.
