RiverRun to honor Bahrani, announces lineup

Marc Webb‘s comedy (500) Days of Summer will open the 2009 RiverRun fest in Winston-Salem. Guillermo Arriaga’s directorial debut The Burning Plain, starring Charlize Theron and Kim Bassinger, will screen as the Centerpiece.

Goodbye, Solo” helmer Ramin Bahrani will get the fest’s Emerging Master Award, which the NY Times’ A.O. Scott may feel he deserves, but New Yorker’s Richard Brody may not.

Too “granola” for Brody.

To which Scott responds “one man’s granola is another man’s meat.”

Check www.riverrunfilm.com for the complete lineup. (It tastes like chicken.)
