SXSW The Last (Half) Part 2

SXSW The Last (Half) Part 2

You don’t have to work for SXSW, to access tons of music. More photos here, this time from Friday’s busy night at the SXSW Music Festival:

(Scottish superstars Glasvegas rocked the annual Spin Magazine party at Stubb’s Friday afternoon. If you look closely to the top righthand of this frame, you’ll see the Metallica gear setting up for that night’s show.)

(Kiwi garage-rockers Cut Off Your Own Hands played a quick, short set during the crowded New Zealand party.)

(Headlining the New Zealand party, buzz act Ladyhawke created a stir when a massive line snaked outside the tiny Brush Square Park tent on Friday evening. I could see why, as the pop/rocker managed to keep everyone entertained with some crunchy, grungey, and catchy early-90s style anthems.)

(The sun was down, but English rockers Pete and the Pirates still kept the shades on. The band worked their melodic magic during a crowded BlackBerry showcase on Friday night at Cedar Street Courtyard.)

(Swedish trio Peter Bjorn and John played Cedar Street a little later that night. While they didn’t touch a single song from their hit debut – not even “Young Folks” – the new material sounds promising.)

(They may have been 45 minutes late, but The Bird & The Bee still impressed the eager audience at Karma Lounge.)

(She may have lost her voice, but Chicago rapper Kid Sister still delivered a blistering and fun set at Club DeVille at the end of Friday night’s shows.)
