Here at Reverse Shot we’ve long thought about how best to incorporate the moving image into our usual roster of reviews, interviews, and blog commentary. There are plenty of sites out there doing Q&As, clips, trailers, and the like, and we’d kind of sat on the video question for this very reason. A few weeks ago we hit on an idea: what if we met up with filmmakers—local, or those in town for traditional press junkets—picked a specific setting or activity and tried to spark informal conversations only tangentially related to whatever film they’re promoting at that time? Thus Reverse Shot Talkies was born. It’s still a work in progress in terms of format, title, tech specs, and the like but we hope you enjoy the first installment of what will become a regular feature. Never let it be said that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
