Sitting here in the terminal at JFK Airport, awaiting my overnight flight to France so I can join my colleagues at the Cannes Film Festival. As soon as I landed in Nice, it’s a rush to Cannes and immersion in the events. But, of course, the festival has been running along for a few days already. So, here’s what I’ve missed:
Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock received a relatively mixed reaction from some reviewers.
Martin Scorsese announced an exciting initiative to distribute restored classic titles through various forms of new media.
While the Cannes Market may appear more subdued this year, it’s likely just everyone’s imagination.
And, the crazy thing about Cannes, is that sometimes a promo reel of an unfinished feature can get tremendous reviews.
So, more from my point-of-view, coming soon. Hopefully I’m not so busy in the mix that I don’t have time to post, but with this much activity after only two days, can you blame me?
