Four Months Later, 'MacHEADS' Going Strong Online

We’ve seen a lot of really great success stories with our films over the last few months, but something that keeps stunning me is the holding power of our January documentary release, MacHEADS. This is a documentary that screened at zero festivals, never played a theater, never broadcast on televsion, and received zero mainstream reviews, but it does star a very popular brand: Apple. The documentary, by Kobi and Ron Shely, has been on iTunes for nearly four months and still sits firmly in the Top 10 documentary rentals chart today. Granted, it’s about the Mac computer culture that flourishes on a place like iTunes, but considering its company is documentaries such as American Teen, Religulous, and Man On Wire, that’s pretty awesome. Plus, we were able to work with the Shely gang on some specific outreach and community-building. Here’s the trailer:
