It’s exciting to share that Chris Smith’s highly-acclaimed documentary portrait, Collapse, will follow its great Toronto Film Festival debut (where it was easily the most acclaimed documentary) with a day-and-date theatrical/VOD release in November. Cinetic Rights Management is handling the VOD release, and it’s something we are very excited to be a part of. Chris is one of the smartest American filmmakers working today, in my opinion, and his latest film is an intoxicating plunge into the mind of an alarmist. The film allows writer/thinker Michael Ruppert to explain and comment upon, many of the things that are leading to society’s impending collapse. Ruppert is eloquent in his manner of speaking, and Chris captures the disturbing subject matter in a compelling and sometimes convincing display. Stay tuned for more, but you can follow the film on Twitter or join its Facebook page. The film opens on November 6 in Manhattan, at the Angelika Film Center and at Los Angeles’ Laemmle Sunset 5, on November 13. Collapse will be available on cable VOD, starting November 15, and then open in more theaters nationwide through the end of 2009.
