Free trip to Montana for a filmmaker

In promotion of its new incentive package, the Montana Film Office is offering the chance for one filmmaker to win a free location familiarization trip to the state. The winner and guest will receive a four-day, three-night stay, transportation and a guided tour of various locations around the state by a Montana Film Office staff member. Unveiled last summer at the Los Angeles Film Festival, Montana offers a 14% refundable tax credit based on hired Montana labor, a 9% refundable tax credit for production expenses, with no cap and no minimum spend, no sales tax, free office furniture, low cost or free location fees, long shooting hours, experienced crews, and hundreds of different looks.

“This is a great opportunity for a filmmaker who has considered Montana as a location option, but hasn’t had the chance to visit our state,” commented Sten Iversen, Director of the Montana Film Office in a statement. “Montana is home to so many different types of locations, it will be a jam-packed tour to the most spectacular and diverse locations we have to offer.” For more information, visit their website.
