Karina Longworth Leaves Spout

Revered young critic Karina Longworth, who has written for and edited SpoutBlog for the past two and a half years, has been let go from her position, effective October 31. In a post on SpoutBlog itself, Spout editor Paul Moore announced that he would not be renewing Longworth’s contract, “Karina’s contract ends at the end of the month and we’ve amiably decided to part ways, the result of a difference in vision over the direction of SpoutBlog. She has been, and continues to be, an exceptional writer, critic and editor. It’s her devotion to her work that made SpoutBlog what it is today.” Karina responded with a post on her own personal blog titled “And so I join the ranks of the unemployed.” In it, she says she will continue to freelance for the time being.
