The ten-day 2010 Sundance Film Festival which launches January 21 in Park City, Utah has booked a number of panels and roundtables. Journalist Michele Norris, host of NPR’s All Things Considered, will interview Anna Deavere Smith. And each morning at 10:30 a.m. in the Cinema Cafe in the Filmmaker Lodge, audiences can engage with filmmakers such as Walter Murch, Russell Banks, Ryan Gosling, and Nicole Holofcener.

Another series of daily panels at the Filmmaker Lodge include Sebastian Junger and Tim Hetherington (Restrepo) and Amit Bar-Lev (The Tillman Story) exploring war reporting in film that mixes journalism and storytelling. And the eight filmmakers of the fest’s new NEXT section talk about low and no-budget filmmaking and distribution.

The fest’s New Frontier on Main films presents several panels on the convergence of art and technology. Panelists include NATO president John Fithian, Lynn Shelton (Humpday), Pixar CTO Oren Jacob, Oprah Winfrey Network digital media president Robert Tercek and USC cinema professor Henry Jenkins.
