The Dallas International Film Festival (April 8-18) announced today 12 official selections from their lineup, and that the recipient of the Texas Avery Animation Awards will be “Up” director and writer Pete Docter.

Three out of the 12 selections are world premieres: Peter Rosen’s documentary “A Surprise In Texas,” Matthew Leutwylers drama “The River Why” based on the novel by David James Duncan, and Neil Truglio’s “We Are the Sea,” which features music by Iron & Wine.
