Is Pitt Signed to Star in Moneyball?

Thompson on Hollywood

While Deadline and The Playlist have many details of Sony’s pending not-yet-greenlit Moneyball production, written sequentially by Steve Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin, to be directed by Bennett Miller and starring Jonah Hill, the part I’m not sure about is Brad Pitt.

That’s because from what I hear, while Sony is trimming the baseball movie’s budget, Pitt really does want to get paid. He and Angelina Jolie live a rich globetrotting lifestyle, and Moneyball is one of the few movies around that might throw him some serious cash. Pitt is notoriously commitment-shy also. (Remember, he pulled out of State of Play, and that’s not the first time.) So is Sony dangling Zaillian and frequent Pitt collaborator David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as another potential pay-day? The script really isn’t written: is it set in Sweden or not? That will impact who stars in it.

I think talking about movie is not something to put your personal opinion on it. Just because you think Pitt needs money doesn’t necessary means he needs money. From what I have seen in Pitt, He isn’t desperate to play in movies to get money unless he is really interested in that movie. He hasn’t worked for more than a year. Someone who is desperate for money would have accepted any kind of script to play just to get the money but Pitt hasn’t done that. Deadline Hollywood reported Brad Pitt is still in and I believe them. Just last year on September Brad Pitt was talking about Moneyball.
