On Friday, an announcement was made about our new DVD deal with the wonderful folks at MPI Home Video. This deal begins with the DVD release of Chris Smith’s documentary, Collapse, which hits shelves on June 15 (it’s currently available for sale on iTunes). We’ll offer a few of our titles on DVD through MPI, so stay tuned for more release news. From the Hollywood Reporter article on the deal:
To date, FilmBuff’s titles have been released primarily via VOD and other digital platforms. The first scheduled release under the MPI agreement is “Collapse,” a documentary about Los Angeles cop-turned-economist Michael Ruppert. Set to hit store shelves June 15, it will carry a suggested retail price of $19.98.
“FilmBuff has been a key player in placing quality independent films into digital media and VOD,” MPI chief Malik Ali said
FilmBuff sales executive Debra Fisher touted MPI’s “long history of bringing entertaining and influential titles to the public.” MPI’s pact with CRM is the second new distribution agreement this year for the Chicago-based indie, following an earlier deal with IFC Films.
