I feel so bad for Sandra Bullock that I can barely read another piece of news about Jessegate. It seems that this guy is rivaling Tiger Woods and John Edwards for dooshbag of the year. The Nazi pictures. The girlfriend with more tattoos than him. The fact that he told one girlfriend that he was separated. Ugh. It just gets worse and worse.
You know that this is resonating cause everyone literally everyone is talking about how Jesse hurt Sandra. He had no idea how people really love her. We even got into it at the Seder. Now of course, it would have been horrible and awful and made news if she had not won the Oscar, but we are so much more visibly upset because of all her public gushing over him throughout all the award events.
When you looked at his face at all the awards shows you could tell that he looked uncomfortable being there. I can’t imagine what he was thinking while she was pouring out her guts to him on that stage talking about how great he was. Did he know that this facade was about to crumble? What if it had crumbled just a mere few days earlier? I can’t imagine what the Oscars would have looked like had she thrown his ass out of the house before she won the award.
This is a story with legs. I’m afraid what else is going to come out. I am angry at Jesse James because this should be a huge moment of triumph for her when she should be weighing offers for her next film and deciding what’s next in her career and now she is picking up the pieces of her life. David Brooks in the NY Times decided to pile on and use her as a symbol for his stupid column on happiness. He starts off talking asking about whether she would give up her Oscar and work happiness to have marriage happiness instead. He asks: “Would you exchange a tremendous professional triumph for a severe personal blow?”
I can’t tell you how angry this makes me. Like this is her fault. Firstly, Jesse is the one here who was — and is a dick, not Sandra. Do you think that she is happy that this is all that people can talk about? I doubt it. And why, do people have to choose? Can’t people have personal and professional success? I should hope so.
Sandra Bullock thought she had both. I’m sad all over again.
