English and French rights are held by Pathé, Swiss by Monopole-Pathé, Benelux by Paradiso Entertainment. U.S. and Canada are held by Sony Pictures Classics. Miral, TIFF North American Premiere. Pre-Toronto sales have licensed it to The Weinstein Co. for U.S., Monopole-Pathé for Switzerland, Europa Filmes for Brazil, Pathe for France, Pathe for U.K., Worldwide Entertainment Group (WEG) for India.
Protagonist Pictures Submarine, TIFF World Premiere. The Weinstein Company (TWC) paid seven figures and made a p&a commitment for North American rights. WME’s Graham Taylor and Mark Ankner represented North American rights with Ben Roberts of Protagonist. WME is believed to have fielded as many as six offers before the deal closed. Optimum Releasing previously acquired UK rights and will release after Submarine’s European premiere at the London Film Festival.
