iPOP NYC: Gothams, "Rabbit Hole," "Black Swan" and Bardem!

It’s official. The awards race is off! This past week got off to a rousing start with Monday night’s Gotham Awards, followed by Tuesday’s unveiling of the 2011 Spirit Awards nominees, and David Fincher’s “The Social Network” sweeping the National Board of Review Awards on Thursday. It should come as no surprise then that this week saw a flurry of talent descend upon Manhattan.

The team behind Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan” pulled double duty, making an appearance at the Gothams and at Tuesday’s glamorous New York premiere of their psycho sexual thriller at the legendary Ziegfield Theater in Midtown. The following evening saw Kirsten Dunst, Kristen Wiig and Lily Rabe show up in support of their work in Andre Jarecki’s “All Good Things” for the film’s New York bow. And Thursday, John Cameron’s Mitchell’s “Rabbit Hole” screened at The Paris Theater, with star/producer Nicole Kidman on hand.

But it was a special screening of Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu’s Cannes-winner “Biutiful” that attracted the glitziest lineup of guests. Star Javier Bardem made an appearance alongside his very pregnant wife Penelope Cruz, and a roster of A-list talent including Al Pacino, Claire Danes, Alicia Keys, Gabourey Sidibe, Holly Hunter and Greta Gerwig all came to catch Inarritu’s latest.
