Oscar Talk: 2010 Ten Best Lists, from "Another Year" to "Winter's Bone"

Thompson on Hollywood

On Oscar Talk this week, as promised, Kris Tapley and I count down, defend and debate our rather diverse and distinctive top ten films of 2010. While we both include The Social Network and Toy Story 3, we agree to disagree on one of my faves, Lisa Cholodenko’s The Kids Are All Right and Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island, which Kris admires. Notable omissions from both lists: 127 Hours, Rabbit Hole, Blue Valentine, Get Low, The Town, Inception, The Fighter and The Ghost Writer.

Hell yeah! Excited by mentions of Enter the Void and Catfish! Only 18 min in so far

Mine is (currently… haven’t seen The Way Back, True Grit, The King’s Speech, The Company Men, Rabbit Hole, Let Me In, The Fighter, Somewhere… now you can appreciate how awesome it is to not be a normal viewer who needs theaters!)

1. Black Swan
2. The Social Network
3. Inception
4. Toy Story 3
5. Enter the Void (Saw it at Sundance! Amazing on the big screen)
6. Cyrus
7. Exit Through the Gift Shop
8. Howl
9. Catfish
10. Kick Ass
Splice and 127 Hours came close. Need to re-watch Shutter Island, Greenberg, The Kids Are All Right, and Scott Pilgrim for closer consideration. P.S. agree about Edgar Ramirez AMAZING. Saw the 2.5 hr version though =(
