New Pics Of Julie Delpy & Chris Rock In ‘2 Days In New York’

New Pics Of Julie Delpy & Chris Rock In '2 Days In New York'

No, you’re not reading that wrong. Funny man Chris Rock is indeed co-starring in “2 Days In New YorkJulie Delpy‘s sequel to her 2007 romantic dramedy “2 Days In Paris” and there are now some fresh pics from the film.

The follow-up to Delpy’s charming and underrated film will find her character, Marion, relocated to New York with a new lover Mingus (Rock) and a child; sorry folks, no Adam Goldberg this time around. Things will get a bit hairy as the clash of cultural backgrounds is brought to the fore when her family and ex-boyfriend come to visit. This stress will be compounded by an upcoming photo exhibit as well. The most enjoyable scenes from “2 Days In Paris” were centered on the raucous yet complicated nature of family life and so we more then welcome another take at similar thematic territory.

You can check out more pics of the film below which also reveal the excellent Dylan Baker as part of the cast, as well as a somewhat mangled synopsis from the production company’s site. No word yet on when the film might premiere but Cannes is around the corner. [Rezo/IonCinema]

Marion has broken up with Jack (Two Days in Paris) and now lives in New York with their child. But when her family decides to come visit her, she’s unaware that the different cultural background held by her new American boyfriend Mingus, her eccentric father, and her sister Rose who decided to bring her ex-boyfriend along for the trip, added to her upcoming photo exhibition, will make up for an explosive mix.

This is great! I had no idea Chris Rock was involved in such a project. I’m certainly looking forward to this. Delpy’s first film was quite charming indeed and it will be nice to see Chris in a slightly different kind of role that he otherwise plays. Kudos!
