Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ‘Terminator’ Movie To Feature “Entire Original Cast”?

Arnold Schwarzenegger's 'Terminator' Movie To Feature "Entire Original Cast"?

It seems folks around Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s camp have become very chatty over the last twenty four hours. Following news this morning of another potential Arnie movie, “Cry Macho,” now comes some interesting tidbits about that “Terminator” movie that’s currently trying to find a studio to take it on.

Latino Review report that in the pitch that’s making it’s way around offices in Hollywood — under the working title “Terminator 2012” — it has, according to their source the “entire original cast” attached to star. Of course, what that actually means is up for debate. We presume that means Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong but can’t really think of anyone else significant enough to warrant a return. Maybe Michael Biehn? As usual plot details are being kept on lock down for the film that has “Fast Five” director Justin Lin attached, but apparently it will be set in the present day. Whether or not it will fit into the timelines further established by “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” and “Terminator Salvation” remains to be seen.

So yeah, more Arnie chatter for your Friday. Frankly, we don’t think anyone is too invested in the Terminator mythology as it stands now so going back and having the story follow the events of “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” — easily the most popular of the entire franchise — would be a smart way to go. But who knows at this point.

Now which one of many of these projects actually rolls first is anyone’s guess. Vulture asserts it’s “Cry Macho” but there is some complicated rights issues with “Terminator” which may have studios wanting to get that one rolling first before the domestic license reverts back to James Cameron in 2018. This certainly isn’t the last we’ll hear of this.

actually, original cast might not mean Edward Furlong, since he was in the Terminator 2, not the original.

I just want Sarah Connor back!!

I was hoping they only make another Terminator film if the script was good and that they hopefully conclude the movie series.

When they announced that Helena Bonham Carter was playing the main villain in Terminator: Salvation, I was expecting her to be the Skynet equivalent of the Borg Queen from Star Trek. I was so disappointed in the end when I saw the film and it was a wasted opportunity to have a really iconic and memorable villain in the franchise. They should have had a confrontation between her, Christian Bale and Sam Worthington towards the end like with Picard, Data and the Borg Queen in Star Trek: First Contact’s climax.

Former California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger needs to do more dramas rather than just doing huge action blockbusters because he pigeonholed himself as an actor who just did action movies. He is an underrated actor. So, I hope that he does more dramas, tries to reach his full potential as an actor and tries to win an Oscar.
