Trailer Watch: Is Crazy, Stupid, Love Gosling's Crazy, Stupid Sellout?

We hope Ryan Gosling isn’t selling out. But judging from this trailer, it looks like he has abandoned his usual dark indie depths for pretty-boy womanizing. The pairing of Gosling and Steve Carell and co-stars Julianne Moore and Emma Stone may in fact be the best-looking rom-com since…a really long time ago. The film, from directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (I Love You, Phillip Morris, Bad Santa), comes out July 29.

Young Hercules gotta eat. Hate the game, not the player. Alternating the arty stuff and the mainstream stuff is how it has ALWAYS been done. Why single out Young Hercules to pick on?

I read the script and it is brilliant and reactions to early screenings have been overwhelmingly positive. This one is going to really surprise people. No way Gosling is selling out, he has a great role.

Also, the movie’s got two directors.

Some people can’t catch a break. I’m sure Ryan Gosling turns down million dollar offers on a regular basis. Doesn’t everyone like going to see a mix of indie and mainstream movies? So why wouldn’t an actor take a role in a film directed by the writers of “Bad Santa” and with this amazing cast? Gosling’s “street cred” is not in question.

Seriously? ‘Selling out’. The man is 30 and has made about $5 for the films he’s been in. If he is so what? But also maybe he wanted to just make a film for once that wasn’t mentally draining? Since this he’s made an indie action film and a political thriller. So “selling out” seems doubtful.

But at the end of the day he’s considered one of the best actors 30 and under. He doesnt have to prove anything to anyone.
