Two More People You Never Heard Of Cast In 'Hunger Games'

The interminable casting of “Hunger Games” continues with two more names joining the ranks of the franchise film.

Ian Nelson and Kalia Prescott have come aboard the film in the not-so-important roles of District 3 kids who are referred to as Tribute Boy and Tribute Girl. So yeah, not exactly shattering info or all that important, but hey, a couple of career boosts to some young actors. They join the grab bag of talent in the film including Jennifer Lawrence, Elizabeth Banks, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Dayo Okeniyi, Amandla Stenberg, Leven Rambin, Jack Quaid, Paula Malcomson and possibly John C. Reilly.

Anyway, this thing will start filming at some point because it’s hitting theaters on March 23, 2012.

@Duncan Derry: I agree. What’s up with you guys acting like assholes?. This article reads as if an 8th grade mean girl wrote it.

This district by district casting announcement (especially with unknowns) is getting REAL tiresome.

It’s irritating to piecemeal out the casting news on this. No, I don’t expect it all at once but surely they could lump all these no names into one or two announcements?

The news posts on this site have gradually been taking on the needlessly snarky tone of so many other pop-culture blogs (“AV Club”, “Gawker” (which admittedly stakes its reputation on the sarcastic, detached angle). “Interminable casting”? What else are the producers/director expected to do? It’s a big book with a full ensemble of characters, who need actors to play them. I understand that you’re not genuinely offended by the fact that the film is being cast, or that you’ve never heard of either actor, which makes the sort of rote irritability of the post even more off-putting.
