Broadcast Critics Announce First TV Award Nominations

Speaking of awards, the Broadcast Television Journalists Association – a new offshoot of the Broadcast Film Critics Association – have announced nominations for the inaugural Critics’ Choice Television Awards. And a few annoyances aside (where are “Treme,” “Eastbound & Down,” Merrit Weaver, Laura Linney, Kiernan Shipka and Aziz Ansari? And why aren’t “Sons of Anarchy,” “Raising Hope” and “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” in the best series lists?), they are a much needed counterpoint to the generally problematic Primetime Emmy Awards.
