Given that Edinburgh’s Project: New Cinephilia was kind enough to invite the Reverse Shot gang over to talk a little bit about what we do, we thought it only best to return the favor and bring a something with us. At yesterday’s conference we debuted our very first video essay: New York / New York. In it, we try to reckon with the form itself as we contrast the particular New York visions of Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese. This is the first segment of what will become a longer investigation over the course of the year. Think of it as a “trailer” of sorts.
Hope you enjoy.
[Tech note: because we blended captured with existing footage on a very tight timeframe, it’ll look a little squeezed at points.]
