Gugu Mbatha-Raw Joining Danny Glover In New TV Series From "Heroes" Creator

When this new series was announced yesterday, the news was that Danny Glover had signed on to co-star, alongside Kiefer Sutherland and David Mazouz, in the Fox TV drama pilot titled Touch, which is being written and produced by the creator of the once popular sci-fi TV series Heroes, Tim Kring.

The series centers on a father (Martin played by Sutherland) who discovers that his genius son (Jake played by Mazouz) “is communicating with him through a complex series of numbers and may even be able to predict events before they happen.

Mr Glover will play a character named Arthur DeWitt, a college professor who’s an expert on “gifted” children, who works with father and son.

This afternoon, the news is that British actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw (who you’ll remember from J.J. Abrams’ failed NBC series, Undercovers), has also joined the cast as the female lead!

She’ll play a character named Clea Hopkins, described as “a social worker with Child and Family Services, who is evaluating Martin’s living situation to determine whether or not his son Jake should remain in the home.

As TVLine notes, if Fox likes what they see in the pilot episode, and pick up the series, Touch will likely debut during the middle of next season. Although Deadline says that it’s considered “a lock for a midseason series order.
