Samuel Goldwyn Films with UN Me Ami Horowitz and Matthew Groff’s Searing United Nations Documentary Set to Open on September 23, 2011

New York, NY (June 8, 2011) – Samuel Goldwyn Films is proud to announce that it has acquired U.S. theatrical rights to Ami Horowitz and Matthew Groff’s controversial United Nations documentary entitled “UN Me.”. The movie follows Horowitz and Groff as they aim their cameras at the world-renowned institution to determine how effectively the organization is living up to its founding principles.

The film was written, directed and produced by Horowitz and Groff. Goldwyn has set a September 23, 2011 release.

“UN Me” takes audiences on a harrowing and humorous tour deep into the heart of the United Nations as Horowitz gains unprecedented access to the UN shooting across Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. Horowitz constantly throws himself into wild and unpredictable situations that are eye opening, shocking and often hilarious.

With unprecedented access, “UN Me” exposes the incompetence and corruption at the core of the United Nations and its disregard for the people and principles it was founded to defend.

According to Horowitz: “If I had made this stuff up, people would accuse me of fantasy. In this case, truth really is stranger than fiction and definitely funnier. I am thrilled that Samuel Goldwyn Films is coming on board to release the movie. Seeing their success with documentaries such as Super Size Me, makes them the ideal partner to release UN Me.”

Meyer Gottlieb, President, Samuel Goldwyn Films adds: “This is a very powerful film which will stun audiences with revelations that are both outrageous and astonishing.”
