Sexist Jackass of the Day: Writer VS Naipaul

Here’s what this jackass said at the Hay Festival in Britain:

Women writers are different, they are quite different. I read a piece of writing and within a paragraph or two I know whether it is by a woman or not. I think [it is] unequal to me.”

He said this was due to their “sentimentality, the narrow view of the world”.

“And inevitably for a woman, she is not a complete master of a house, so that comes over in her writing too.

He also said that no female author — living or dead — is his equal. He just sounds so lovely. Go crawl back in your hole. I’ve never read your work and now most definitely won’t. I’ll stick to some narrow minded people like Jane Austen or George Eliot.

He still walks among us.

VS Naipaul is notorious for being a (good) writer with problems–sexism among them. He treats the women in his life very horribly (and at the same time, they let him do so). As Jihad Punk has noted, he also hates Muslims, Indians, etc.

I have only read part of a book of his, so can’t really judge how good he is as a writer. But really, with so many other writers, why should I bother picking up his work?

I’ve read his work and while I do like it, I find that he tends to fizzle or lose focus towards the end of the story.

I won’t be recommending his books, there is no place in this world for that kind of narrow thinking.

VS Naipaul also hates Muslims and Indians and Africans. He’s a f–king moron.

i’d love to have a narrow view of his ass while i’m kicking it….
