Today! Join S&A Livecast Season 2, Ep 8 With Director Seith Mann

The S&A Crew are revving up for a great podcast today! Join us today Wednesday at 8pm/est when we talk about all the hot black film topics. Slated for discussion:

Should Black Directors Be Obligated To Direct Black Films?
Nicole Beharie in Shame
The latest speculation on Idris Elba meeting Quentin Tarrantino for Django Unchained

For the second half of the show, we’ll have director Seith Mann join us. Mann has directed episodes of various productions including The Wire, Grey’s Anatomy, Cold Case, Lincoln Heights, Entourage, Heroes, Fringe, Friday Night Lights, Detroit 1-8-7 and Californication. If you’ll recall, he’s set to direct an adaptation of the graphic novel, Miss: Better Living Through Crime with Spike Lee producing.

You can listen HERE and don’t forget to join us in the chat room. We had a few technical glitches regarding the chat room but things should be better now. So let’s hear your two cents worth!

So far great podcast. I have to disagree about Nichole. The indie films she’s done and soon to be released are cementing her acting ability, which, I as an up and coming writing/producer, would hire her on the spot. Whatever nudity occurs in Shame, would take a backseat to her performance. Can’t wait to see My Last Day Without You screening next weekend.

I am so going to tube into S&A tonight. Can’t wait!

James Madison

I’m in!

In case I’m unable to tune-in during real-time, can you ask Mann about his experiences directing for “Heroes”? Ask if he was a fan of this show (or any of the ones he directed) and if so, where does he as a fan (and also as someone looking on from within) think the show fell off. I know that’s a lot, but if he could squeeze in a brief answer pertaining to any of my “Heroes” questions, I’d appreciate it. :)

Looking forward to the rest of the topics:

-black directors – black films

-django – idris, father of my future children – and tarantino

-beharie – fassbender – how jealous i am – something about this irish/german man with his not so classic, ruggedly classic looks (a la daniel craig and others like him).

i digress. can’t wait to listen (and chat hopefully)!!!
