Watch Now - "Robots Of Brixton" (Short Shout)

Here’s a new animated short to definitely check out. It’s called Robots of Brixton by a very talented (as you will see), young British director Kibwe Tavares, who you can learn more about HERE.

The short was made to mark the 30th anniversary of the Brixton urban riots in south London in 1981. I don’t want to say more about it because I want you to see it for yourselves. Kibwe, I’d say, has quite a future ahead of him judging from this work:

Try looking into James Parris. I believe he own a company called Paper Tiger Films. I’m not 100% though.

Awesome! Thank you for posting this. I’ve watched it three times!

I wasn’t crazy about Tron either (old one or the new one) but if it means that a black director does something on that level. I’m all for it.

Which by the way, brings the question are there any African American animation directors out there we don’t know of yet doing stuff like this at this level?

Don’t curse the guy. People said the same about Kosinski and look how that turned out.

Tron Legacy…

Good stuff!

Like Shane Acker the director of 9, I am hoping he can get someone to help produce his vision on a wider scale.
