First Look at The Darkest Hour: Aliens in Moscow

Emile Hirsch is moving from the isolation of the Alaskan wilderness in Into the Wild to a more dystopian terror in The Darkest Hour, Chris Gorak’s 3-D science-fiction film. While Hirsch won’t have to lose 40 pounds, he’ll be part of another environment of trepidation and isolation–in Russia.

Here’s a first look at the young protagonist in Moscow’s Red Square. Olivia Thirlby (Juno) co-stars as one of five youths stranded in Moscow, struggling for survival in the aftermath of an alien invasion. The film, which will juxtapose Moscow’s old world architecture with sci-fi special effects, will premiere December 23, 2011 in the U.S. and Russia.
