Idris, Laurence, Taraji & Andre Are Primetime Emmy Nominees

Idris, Laurence, Taraji & Andre Are Primetime Emmy Nominees

The highlights: Idris Elba in the Lead Actor in a Mini-Series or movie category, for his performance in Luther; Laurence Fishburne, in the same category, for his performance in Thurgood; Taraji P. Henson (which was a surprise – a good one, but still a surprise) in the Lead Actress in a Mini-Series or movie category, for her performance in Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story; Andre Braugher in the Supporting Actor in a Drama category, for his performance in Men of a Certain Age.

Did I miss any others worth mentioning?

Loretta Divine did infact get a nomination for Greys!

I’m exceptionally overjoyed for taraji as i was very sacred she wouldnt get recognised. I guess when it is your time to shine, its your time!!

Mr. Dawber

I’m very happy for the nominees. Btw, it’s worth noting that Laurieann Gibson is up for Outstanding Directing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special for her work on HBO’s “The Monster Ball Tour Special,” Lady Gaga’s concert.

I wonder if the academy’s ever heard of a show called Treme. lol. Khandi Alexander’s snubbed again. But interestingly the NAACP Image Awards didn’t nominate her either, which was insane.

I’m not one to scream “RACISM!” at every turn, but some things are just ridiculous. Good article about the obvious & the typical…

Devine and Alfre Woodard (True Blood) for drama guest actress. Elba got a 2nd nod for comedy guest actor (the big C).

You missed the incomparable Loretta Devine for Guest Actress in a Drama Series for Grey’s Anatomy

Kunle Adekolo

I’m rooting for all of them; especially Idris and Andre, though. I didn’t see Larry or Taraji’s performances, but I’m sure their nominations were well-earned.
