indieWIRE’s Online Video of the Day: Spike Jonze & the Beastie Boys & Santigold, Oh My!

indieWIRE's Online Video of the Day: Spike Jonze & the Beastie Boys & Santigold, Oh My!

Every day, indieWIRE scours the internet looking for an online video we think our audience will appreciate. From artistic videos making their rounds on Vimeo and YouTube to online tutorials, we’re committed to making sure filmmakers, industry, and fans find the online videos that most suit them.

Spike Jonze is back with another Beastie Boys collaboration, their first since 2000. A follow-up to the duo’s “Sabotage” and “Sure Shot,” “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win” features Santigold, action figures, a suspenseful plot, and even a little blood, all in just under 4 minutes (for the shorter version).

With action figures operated by poles or, at times, visible hands, Jonze gives the story line precedence over the song itself, with a group of assassins after the band, which gives way to a well-shot chase scene and some resurrected zombies. It definitely renders both a look and a chuckle.
