So If "The Tree of Life" is Just a Commercial, It's for Abercrombie & Fitch

Yesterday, we were intrigued by The Guardian‘s essay of “The Tree of Life,” in which David Cox made the (well-intentioned, well-reasoned) accusation that the film was nothing but an extended commercial — for life.

YouTube user davidnguyen (Let’s call him David Nguyen) went a step further, uploading a YouTube mashup that combines clips from Abercrombie & Fitch ads, the Sufi/global spirituality doc “Baraka” and “2001: A Space Odyssey” to form something that looks eerily similiar to the trailer for Terrence Malick’s magnum opus.

Though we could have done without the Abercombie & Fitch tags. If Malick teaches you nothing else, let it be subtlety.

This is really poorly done. The editing makes no sense and I’m actually angry that you called attention to such a haphazard parody. Just awful.
