Watch Denzel Washington Tell A True Story About "The Nigga They Couldn't Kill"

Although it’s from 2010, the moral of the story withstands time.

Denzel & Viola are amazing. You MUST watch the entire 5 parts on you tube. Both of them making great points about blk characters in Hollywood.

I have a desire to post this on every black casting website, facebook and twitter out there b/c what he mentioned about setting the tone for an actor’s career is so true. I know “juicy” roles don’t grow on trees, but I think this is what is missing from this generation of artists… self respect.

Yes, work and pay the rent, but like Robert Townsend said in Hollywood Shuffle… there’s always work at the post office.

There goes that holocaust vs. slavery/civil rights issue again.

Sounds like a good horror film for southern whites lol. Glad Denzel turned it down but I can see a lot of black actors (meaning comedians) who would jump in with both feet.

I remember watching the whole segment of this discussion. It was truly fascinating. I appreciate how candid both Denzel and Viola were. I agree with Denzel, it’s not funny but it is truly ridiculous!
