With today’s announcement that Cameron Crowe’s rock documentary, “Pearl Jam Twenty,” will world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, Crowe dropped the trailer for his latest on his own website.
This marks his second music documentary this year. Back in April “The Union,” which chronicles Elton John and Leon Russell’s collaborative album, opened the Tribeca Film Festival (to so-so notices).
“Pearl Jam Twenty” chronicles the years leading up to the mega-band’s formation and their massive success that followed. The film, reportedly carved from over 1,200 hours of rarely and never-before-seen footage, will no doubt interest fans and music aficionados alike.
Check out the suitably rousing trailer below. Oddly enough, David Lynch kicks the whole thing off. If you have any guesses as to why, tell us in the comments.
