Andre Braugher May Get Jiggy with Mariska Hargitay In "Law & Order: SVU" Recurring Role

Just a day after lead actor Andre Braugher received an Emmy nomination for his work on the series Men of a Certain Age, the network that carries the show, TNT, announced that it will not renew it for a 3rd season.

And just like that, Mr Braugher’s future was uncertain.

However, he just might be able to secure his immediate future, as he is reportedly “in negotiations” to play an attorney on Law & Order: SVU.

The role will be a recurring one; Braugher will play a lawyer who represents the underprivileged, and who may get close to Det. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay).

Well la-di-dah… just how close are we talking?

But seriously, Braugher is yet another one of those solid actors who really should be in continuous demand, and for a variety of parts.

What’s interesting is that he’s going to be reunited with his Homicide co-star, Richard Belzer, with Belzer plays the SAME character (John Munch) on SVU that he did on Homicide! They might as well just re-boot Homicide, since Belzer doesn’t even seen to be playing the same character either (shades of the “real” John Munch were found in a 5th season episode of “The Wire”, which also featured ANOTHER actor from Homicide (Clark Johnson) playing a different character. Can you tell yet that I’m a fan of Homicide?

I Watch Thief and Hack and watching Homicide: Life on the street just to see his range of talents. He truly should be doing better show than outdated and contrived Law and Order: SVU

I know he’s been in a lot of shows/movies, but it wasn’t until Men of a Certain Age that I really came to know (his name). Loved him. Loved that show.

Love Andre Braugher. Homicide (Best actor on television for 6 years running), Glory, Gideon’s Crossing, Thief. (I won’t mention the Kojak movies. LOL!) I’m always up for more Andre Braugher on television.
