Sam Mendes Will Shoot New James Bond Film in India

The Indian government has approved director Sam Mendes to film the latest James Bond feature in locations including Delhi, Goa and close to Ahmedabad, reports THR. The scene in Delhi, India’s capital, is rumored to take place among the crowded bazaar Daryaganj and the famed flea market Sarojini Nagar. The Times of India reported that these areas were approved, excepting some railways because of concerns about security, but the Bond production team is talking with the Railway Ministry, because clearly Bond needs an action sequence on the rails.

Mendes’ film, starring Daniel Craig as the sangfroid hero, will be the 23rd in the James Bond series. It is set to be released in 2012, to mark the 50th anniversary of the franchise.

Shooting in India? Why don’t they cast Aishwarya Rai (the most beautiful actress in the world) as the newest “Bond girl”? That would give me a reason to go see it.

I’d like to see Kurt Angle and Gary Daniels as villains in this film. There would be amazing fight scenes between each of them with Daniel Craig.

I hope that they set some of this film in the U.S. and that they include several famous American actors. They have excluded the U.S. from the film series since Licence To Kill (1989) and the sequence in Casino Royale (2006) at Miami International Airport was not even filmed in the U.S. It would be amazing for them to film in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Las Vegas and to see Daniel Craig as James Bond in those cities.
