Watch Tyler Perry Lunge Into Action In A Production Clip From "I, Alex Cross"

Wooow… now we’re talking! :)

Yesterday, Vanessa posted a behind-the-scenes clip of principal photography for Tyler Perry’s I, Alex Cross project, currently shooting in Cleveland, OH, which gave us a glimpse of TP in Alex Cross mode.

However, in the below clip, we get to see the man in full-on action! Apparently, TP is doing some of his own stunts, yo! Look at how serious he looks afterward, as he shakes off the shot.

Though I thought he said he had lost a bunch of weight and added on pounds of muscle in preparation for the part. I can’t really tell. Can you?

wow! I am so suprise, i am so used to seeing madea and the comedy side but from this video he looks good on action. By the way, did he loose weight? wow! He is looks nice. *wink*

Tyler looks good, so happy he’s showing his acting chops in something other than Madea. Gay or Straight, doesn’t matter to me as long as he can act. Everyone has a right to protect their private lives. He doesn’t owe anybody anything, he did it his way with help from the real people in his life not judgemental characters on the sidelines.

*blink* Still not convinced or impressed.

“still a lil’ doughy but that may play to his advantage.”
Maybe this is supposed to be early in the film before his wife is killed or something.

“The problem with seeing physical activity/stunts recorded on set is that they always look bad. Once it is on film & goes through post (color correction, editing, sound), it becomes brilliant.”

The homophobia in these comments are defamatory. SHAME on all of you!!! Having said that, “Dude” in the white shirt getting up from the table…that’s all I’m going to say about that.

As I want to see the final film I’m hoping to get some free passes as I’m sure they will do to drumb up support. As a fan of ‘Lost’ Matthew is a REALLY GOOD actor and I’m sure will do a bang up job if anything and again I’ve never thought Tyler Perry was a bad actor.

That is not the pearl clutching I’m referring to (didn’t even see him earlier), but thanks for the production lesson-lol

I meant to say that Link was for you Dankwa :-D

As if right on cue, the second video shows exactly what I’m talking about.

Second video, Right around the 1:25 Mark:

Can’t believe I’m defending TP but fair is fair…. LMBAO

Crew member

The “pearl clutching” you reference is, in fact, the 1st assistant director activating his walkie-talkier to cue the stunt performers and background extras.

The pearl clutching at :07 is funnier than Perry’s high top fade afro toupee

Adam Scott Thompson

If the video had started five seconds later, I’d have sworn he was diving into the Fountain of Coonery to renew his powers.

As much as I want to like this…I’m not feeling it. Hopefully it turns out to be a good movie.

Wait, hold up…

Are some of you ladies starting to FEEL Tyler Perry?

In this one scene – is he seriously starting to look GOOD to you??

This is TYLER PERRY!!!

When this movie comes out, it is really gonna be interesting….

Maybe if Alex Cross is a success Tyler Perry can prove to audiences he can play the heterosexual leading man role? If Alex Cross is a success it will prove he has range. I think this is a smart move by Tyler because of all the gay and bisexual rumours. If this movie is a hit he might just become a leading man.

blah blah

for some reason I half-expected him to be in his Madea gear.

That does look pretty good. Damn…

He lost weight? really? hmm.

The Old Ruler

It’s good to see them showing a feature film in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. I can’t hate on TP as Alex Cross. Think about it, black title character and black lead actor. It’s all good, folks. @centcreative

@Dee-I have to disagree. The problem with seeing physical activity/stunts recorded on set is that they always look bad. Once it is on film & goes through post (color correction, editing, sound), it becomes brilliant. Behind the scenes clips of BOURNE & CINDERELLA MAN look silly, than on screen you’re like “Damn, that’s a beast!”

I mean, yeah , I laughed when he was opening the door too but I bet that shot will look good on film.

Wow… Is that a hair piece he’s wearing? And who was the queens that jump up and stood around him clapping at the end of the take. I can’t believe people in this comment section are impressed by that example of pure comedy/skit!!! Stop it Tyler, you’re not an action hero and you ain’t sexy! Some people can’t do everything. :-( SMDH

The only thing i’ve seen more physically awkward is Jerry Lewis, and he had to practice to achieve that level of comic performance.

Wow hes really breaking ground as the 1st openly black gay action hero!

Hey, I hated Tyler as the choice for Cross, but look at that man…he can JUMP! LOL

Jokes aside, he “looked” good…still a lil’ doughy but that may play to his advantage. Congratz to him there, but I will have to definitely see it to even want to believe it.

Never thought i would ever say this but Tyler Perry looks good.

Tyler Perry looks really good he’s lost some weight and he looks fit! Go Tyler!!

so….take 2? at the end? what powerful lunges you have Mr. TP :-)
